IMC Attends Maxine Smith STEAM Academy Career Fair

Members of the IMC Companies IT team participated in the 2019 Maxine Smith STEAM Academy Career Fair. The Greater Memphis IT Council sponsored the career fair and IMC Companies was happy to participate and support STEAM education in Memphis.   Over 85% of the students at MSSA make the Honor Roll each quarter, MBJ named MSSA the #1 Middle School for Memphis in 2017, and they ranked #1 in the TCAPS for Shelby County and #2 in the State of TN in 2015.  Joel Tracy, IMC Companies CIO said, “It is certainly worth our investment to participate and encourage MSSA students to continue their STEAM studies as they are the future talent base for Memphis and employers like IMC that need employees with STEAM related skills!”

The Maxine Smith STEAM Academy provides students in the greater Memphis area effective and innovative instructional strategies, which support Common Core State Standards and are focused on educating, enriching and empowering the whole child to learn through laboratory activities, case studies, and positive student/teacher interaction. Students will engage in science, technology, and mathematics instruction, which is construed through engineering disciplines and embedded in the creative arts.
