Making a Difference One Mile at a Time
When veteran driver William Jones was young, someone made a difference in his life and ever since, he’s made it his mission to pay it forward. For William, he does this as a Driver Mentor at IMCG in Dallas, TX and through philanthropy in his local community.
As a driver mentor, William spends the first few weeks with new drivers training them how to safely hook up chassis and dray containers. William says, “The new drivers are experienced, but container drayage might be new to them. I feel good that if they do their job safely, they can be home with their families each night.”
Driving for IMCG has also given William a flexible schedule so he can serve his local community of Dallas, TX. William and his wife spend a few nights each week providing meals for the homeless community. In his spare time, he also works with his church on food drives and mentoring students on their career paths. William says it’s his calling, “I grew up in the Dallas community, I feel like it’s my job to give back to it.”
